.An eternal student of music.

Manik Khan is a pioneering sarod soloist, composer, and teacher dedicated to the continuation and evolution of the Maihar Gharana. The youngest son of the legendary Ustad Ali Akbar Khan, Manik is carrying forth an unbroken lineage of North Indian classical music dating back to the 16th century.

A versatile artist, he has performed alongside many of India’s greatest tabla masters as well as with Western symphony orchestras. In 2025, Manik reached a landmark moment for the instrument as a featured artist on Trevor Hall’s Monsoon Nights tour, becoming the first sarod player to perform at the prestigious Red Rocks Amphitheatre.
